West Ryde Rovers FC assist with ANZAC Challenge
West Ryde Rovers Football Club decided to embark on some fundraising to show its support and appreciation of the men and women that have served and continue to serve their country.
In particular with this year being the Anzac Centenary, the WRRFC created the inaugural WRRF Anzac Challenge to raise money for Legacy Australia.
Legacy Australia are an invaluable organisation that supports families of deceased defence service men and women in times of need.
WRRFC Club Secretary Lindsay Donald challenged his own Club to donate, and then presented the Challenge to the Gladesville Hornsby Football Association (GHFA) and all its member clubs to match or better the donation of WRRFC.
Subsequently WRRFC Anzac Challenge 2015 raised $7400 for Legacy and proudly presented their cheque to legatee Mr John Spencer on the 9th May.
West Ryde Rovers would like to thank the following for their support: GHFA, All Saints Hunters Hill, Hills Hawks, West Pennant Hills, Kenthurst, North Epping Rangers, North Epping Rangers Super League Squad, Gladesville Sharks, Ryde Panthers, and Thornleigh.
