Menai Hawks making waves this Summer
The Summer of 2016, Menai Hawks are one of over 20 new centres to launch their inaugural Summer Football Season.
The season commencing in October has attracted over 600 players, male and female, junior and senior divisions played from The Ridge sporting complex.
Taking advantage of the Football NSW ‘Summer Football in a Bag’ offer to all affiliated centres, the new goals, playing equipment and experienced referees, the players are enjoying the fast and skilful version of our sport.
Club President Nigel Essex and Competition Administrator Enzo Sansone have been impressed with the high uptake of participants in the area.
“Menai Hawks Summer Football welcomes all players regardless of experience and encourages newcomers to join and enjoy the friendship and exercise and to perhaps learn more of our sport.
“Many thanks goes to Football NSW for their assistance in getting us started, the Sutherland Shire Football Association, the Sutherland Shire Referees Association and the Sutherland Shire Council whom support the grounds and facilities.
“As the word spreads on the success of this season, we are looking forward to expanding in 2017 to offer even more players the experience our sport”.
Menai Hawks are also looking forward to all the offerings the Football NSW Summer Football season has to offer as their top ranked Men’s and Women’s sides look set to compete at the Summer Football Champion of Champions tournament at Valentine Sports Park next Saturday 10th December.
Football NSW Member Services Manager Matt Rippon also shared the enthusiasm.
“We are really looking forward to this event, building off the successes of the previous two seasons. Menai Hawks will be one of many new centres who take centre stage at Valentine Sports Park next weekend – our last major event of the calendar year”.
