After a weekend off for Easter, the State League Women’s competition is back as some tasty fixtures take centre stage.

Undefeated APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC take on free scoring Mt Druitt Rangers FC while SD Raiders FC face a tricky away fixture against UNSW FC.

UNSW FC vs SD Raiders FC- David Phillips Complex, 3pm

Undefeated SD Raiders FC face another tricky away trip to UNSW FC who will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing loss to APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC in round 2.

SD Raiders FC will be aware of the dangers UNSW FC present and will be primed for a tough test. SD Raiders coach Catherine Cannuli will look for her team to again showcase the character and determination which earned them a win in their last start against Western NSW Mariners.

Renato Jelen coach of UNSW FC will also be conscious of not wanting to start the season with 2 losses and the importance of building confidence within the squad. This game promises to be an intriguing one and carries plenty of importance for both teams even at this early stage of the season.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC vs APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC- Popondetta Park, 3pm

In what could be the game of the round and potentially the game of the season so far, Danny Abboud’s free scoring Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC take on undefeated APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC. Mt Druitt will come into this contest with plenty of confidence after their big win over Parramatta FC in round 2.

They will be wary though that APIA will present a much tougher test as Matteo Maiorana has his team slowly clicking into gear and showing why they are defending premiers.

Both these teams are coming off big wins in there last outings and will want to continue the momentum they have been able to create.

Defences of both teams will need to be switched on especially with last years Golden Boot winner Christy Ferreyra lining up for APIA. Mt Druitt though did show that they themselves have plenty of attacking options and threats all over the park as this game promises plenty of goals and excitement.

St George FC vs Parramatta FC- St George Stadium, 3pm

St George FC will see this game as an opportunity to register their first win of the season after a tough opening round 1 loss to SD Raiders FC. St George will take plenty of confidence from their performance against the defending champions SD Raiders FC as they pushed them all the way and will be looking to pile more misery on Parramatta FC.

Parramatta on the other hand will being wanting to forget their last start against Mt Druitt as quickly as possible and will be looking to put a more resolute effort in against St George.

St George will not want to lose touch with the early frontrunners and will know 3 points is a must this week especially at home. Parramatta FC will look to provide a tougher test than what they presented at Mt Druitt.

This game promises to be a closely fought contest as it again pits two teams against each other that are desperate for the three points.
