Round 12 Futsal Premier League 2 – Open Men’s Preview
Round 12 in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Men’s competition was another thrilling installment which provided plenty of goals and drama. The three games on Saturday afternoon including the Match of the Round between Macarthur Quake Futsal Club and SD Raiders Futsal helped to shape the top four. Let’s get onto the review.
Match of the Round: Macarthur Quake Futsal 14 defeated SD Raiders Futsal 2
Macarthur Quake Futsal Club won 14-2 against SD Raiders Futsal at Minto Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The Quake ran rampant in the win which consolidates them in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Men’s top four. Mark Symington and Bradon Clissold got hat-tricks while Aidan Limbrey scored twice. Connor Irwin, Shaun Irwin, Dean Lockhart, Radwan Jinjnazi and Bradley Peryman rounded off the scorers.
SD Raiders Futsal was a side full of youth players and they held their own for parts of the game and took the lead in the 3rd minute through Phoenix Molloy. Hugo Araya added a late consolation in the 34th minute.
The Quake authored the first chances of the game. Aidan Limbrey had the feature chance which he fizzed over the bar.
SD Raiders Futsal made it 1-0 in the third minute through Phoenix Molloy. It was a superb pass from Hugo Araya to find him for the tap in.
That lead lasting four minutes before Limbrey equalised for Macarthur Quake. He weaved through the SD Raiders Futsal defence and finished well for 1-1.
The visitors kept pushing forward with chances. Jack Hanzis hit the right post in quick succession in the search for the lead.
Bradon Clissold gave Quake the lead in the 9th minute. He arrowed an effort in the bottom corner for 2-1.
Quake were in full flow after that goal. Mark Symington rocketed home for 3-1 in the 10th minute with his first goal.
The hosts kept pushing forward. Symington had an effort then Connor Irwin tried to flick towards goal before it was blocked.
Molloy unfurled a strike straight then Sebastian Tamayo fired in an effort which was pushed away by Quake keeper Bradley Peryman.
Limbrey added his second of the game in the 19th minute. He was on the end of an incisive move and touched home for 4-1.
Coming out of the break, Quake felt just fine. Alexander Purves held up the ball well for Shaun Irwin to fire home for 5-1 in the 21st minute.
Next, Dean Lockhart snatched the ball well then found Connor Irwin who slammed the ball home in the 26th minute for 6-1.
Christian Jolevski had a chance on the breakaway for SD Raiders Futsal to reduce the deficit, but he whipped it wide.
Quake scored three goals in quick succession for 9-1. Purves scored the seventh and eighth in the 28th and 29th minute then Symington found the back of the net in the 29th minute.
Tamayo and Jolevski had a pair of efforts for SD Raiders Futsal as the visitors continued to push for another goal.
The visitors did make it 9-2 in the 34th minute. Araya provided the finish after another good move from SD Raiders Futsal.
Lockhart added the tenth goal for Quake in the 35th minute. He was able to slice the ball into the net after it fell to him.
Next, Symington fired home from a kick in for 11-2 then Quake keeper Peryman lobbed it into an empty net for 12-2 in the 36th minute.
Purves completed his hat-trick in the 37th minute for 13-2 then Radwan Jinjnazi tapped home for 14-2 in the final minute.

Raiders Futsal Club 2 defeated by Phoenix Futsal Club 3
Phoenix Futsal Club won 3-2 against Raiders Futsal Club at Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors have made it three wins on the bounce and crucially keep their spot at the top of the ladder. Raiders Futsal Club struck first through Slaven Ljuboja in the 16th minute for 1-0 before Edward Bacon equalised for Phoenix for 1-1 in the 18th minute.
Sebastian Malfara gave Raiders Futsal Club the lead again in the 32nd minute for 2-1 then Angus Till pulled it back to 2-2 in the 39th minute. Connor Slater slammed home the winner for Phoenix Futsal Club in the 40th minute for 3-2.
Sydney Futsal Club 5 defeated by West City Crusaders 9
West City Crusaders won 9-5 against Sydney Futsal Club at NC of Indigenous Excellence on Saturday afternoon.
The win moves the Crusaders into second spot on the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Men’s ladder headed into the final fortnight. Tobias Elliot-Orr made it 1-0 for Crusaders in the 3rd minute before Michael Loupis levelled for Sydney Futsal Club in the 15th minute for 1-1. Stuart Gosling handed Crusaders back the lead in the 19th minute for 2-1 and lost Alexander Murrell to a red card.
Jaime Gutierrez made it 2-2 in the 22nd minute before Nathan Niski made it 3-2 for Crusaders in the 23rd minute. Sydney Futsal Club took the lead after Pieter-Bas Dalebout and Dion Kellis scored in the 28th minute for 4-3.
Niski scored twice to complete his hat-trick in the 30th and 32nd minute for 5-4 Crusaders then Gosling made it 6-4 in the 34th minute. Ryan Faulkner tallied in the 35th and 36th minute to take the score to 8-4. Loupis pulled one back for Sydney Futsal in the 36th minute for 8-5 before Elliot-Orr rounded off the win with his second for 9-5.
