Campbelltown Quake v Eastern Suburbs Hakoah
Campbelltown Quake take on Eastern Suburbs Hakoah in what should be a curious clash at Minto Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Win-less Campbelltown’s shown plenty of grit without any reward from their opening three clashes but may sense this match-up as a possible chance to rectify their balance.
Easts won’t be a pushover by any stretch as they’ve raced into second spot on goal-difference and may not feel like giving up their lofty position so swiftly.
The sides swapped victories last summer with Quake edging Hakoah 4-3 at Minto last December.
Boomerangs FS v UTS Northside
Boomerangs FS welcome UTS Northside to the AIS Training Halls for a spicy Saturday-evening dance.
Northside suffered their first season-loss last week going down to table-toppers Mascot so they’ll be keen to bounce back against Boomerangs, particularly as victory in the capital would set a new club away-record of three straight wins.
Unfortunately for them the game is in Canberra where Boomerangs boast an imposing 63% win-rate, the second-highest of any premier league club in history (behind Dural’s phenomenal 77%). UTS have a 34% away success rate.
The Territorians edged Northside 3-2 in last summer’s clash at the Training Halls before the sides played out a thrilling 4-4 draw in Sydney’s return bout.
Inner West Magic v Enfield Allstars
Expect fireworks when Inner West Magic meet Enfield Allstars at Valentine Sports Park on Saturday evening.
The ‘derby’ has always been a focal point for both clubs to gain boasting rights and the fact Inner West hold a slender historical one-win edge over Enfield (8-7, plus three pulsating draws) only underlines how competitive this fixture is – their last 15 encounters have all been decided by three goals or less.
Allstars won their last match-up at Valentine 3-2 and then beat Magic 1-0 in December’s return game; the teams also played out 3-3 and 1-1 draws in 2017/18 to leave last year’s 6-3 Futsal Cup victory as Inner West’s only win over Enfield in the past three summers.
Mascot Vipers v Mountain Majik
Ladder-leaders Mascot Vipers tackle thirsty Mountain Majik at Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday night.
Mascot are sitting pretty at the top of the tree with a team that’s firing on all cylinders, and they can set a new club-record fourth straight league win and match their best unbeaten run as well with victory this weekend.
They face a Mountain side smarting from their late loss to Inner West last week after leading 4-2 with a quarter-hour to go.
Majik hold a tight 6-5 head-to-head edge (one draw) with particular gratitude to Jordan Guerreiro and Jamie Dib’s 10 fixture-goals each, but Vipers held the stick over them last season with a double win.
This match-up averages 10+ goals over 12 contests – their first three scorelines were 10-5, 8-3 and 7-4, all going Mountain’s way.
