Over eight Football NSW affiliated associations came together to support women’s football recently when our very own Westfield Matildas took on Chile in a friendly encounter at Bankwest Stadium on the 9th of November.

Clubs such as Central Sydney Wolves (Bankstown District), Ramsgate RSL (St George), Newbury Bulls (Blacktown District), Roselea FC (North West Sydney Football), Hornsby Heights (Northern Suburbs), Nepean Academy (Nepean), Hills, Holroyd Rangers (Granville) as well as a team from Football NSW’s Community FC program all took part in the Westfield Matildas activation on match day.

Over 80 ALDI MiniRoos players took to the pitch as player mascots and half-time heroes.

The half-time heroes had the opportunity to play during the half-time break in front of what was a record breaking crowd for women’s football as over twenty thousand witnessed the Matildas defeat Chile 2-1 with Sam Kerr bagging a double.
