Super Youth League Round 18

A glance at the competition tables will tell you that only a very brave person would even try to predict the composition of the top five teams at season?s end. The tables are so tight that anything can happen and it probably will.
The weather was so good this weekend that there was even some room for some catch-up matches so let?s have a look at what happened.
Club Championship
Spirit FC had bagged thirteen points from their first round clash with Fraser Park but they had to be content with nine points this time around. However, that was sufficient to keep Spirit at the top of the table but their margin has been reduced to two points while Fraser Park have slipped back one place to ninth.
Last time Central Coast met Dulwich Hill the clubs had to settle for six points each but this week it was a different story as Central Coast made off with eleven of the points to remain in second spot while Dully  fell back two places to seventh.
Third placed Western NSW Panthers had taken twelve of the first round points from eleventh placed Northern Tigers but this time around Western had to be content with just eight points from the clash.
Blacktown Spartans held onto fourth place when they had the bye this week.
Mounties Wanderers and Granville Rage had shared the first round spoils at six points each and this week the points were shared equally once again with each club taking seven points this time. That outcome allowed the Mounties to climb one place to fifth while Rage moved up one position to eighth.
Sydney University pocketed twelve points last time they faced Schofields Scorpions and this time Uni managed to take eleven points from the fixture, jumping one place to sixth in the process while the Scorpions have remained at the foot of the table.
Tenth placed Macarthur Rams grabbed nine points from their first round matches against twelfth placed West Sydney Berries but this time the clubs took seven points each from the encounter.
In Round 17 catch-up action Granville Rage took twelve points from Blacktown Spartans after the clubs had shared the first round spoils at six points apiece. This outcome has caused Rage to scoot up the table to fifth position and left the Spartans at fourth.
Grade 13
Central Coast had produced a run of ten matches without loss and they were 2-0 winners last time they met Dulwich Hill who had lost their last two games. This week Central Coast completed the double with a 1-0 result and that leaves them twelve points clear at the top of the table while Dully are still eleventh.
Macarthur Rams had beaten West Sydney Berries 2-1 when they faced off in the first round and this week the Rams once again claimed the points with a 2-1 scoreline. The Rams have climbed one place to second while the Berries have remained at ninth.
The fourth placed Skillaroos had battled out an exciting 4-4 draw with Blacktown Spartans in the first round but, in another high scoring thriller, the Skillaroos took all the points this week with a 6-4 victory, an outcome that has forced the Spartans back one place to third.
While Western NSW Panthers were coming off losses from their last two games, they had taken the first round points when they were 3-0 winners over Northern Tigers who had lost their last match. The match was a bit closer this time when the Panthers edged out the Tigers with a 2-1 scoreline to remain at fifth while the Tigers are still fourteenth.
Mounties Wanderers had taken points from their last two matches and they were 1-0 winners when they last faced Granville Rage who were coming off a last match win. The Mounties completed the double with a 3-1 scoreline to stay at sixth while Rage are twelfth.
Schofields Scorpions had not lost in the last five outings but they had lost 4-1 in the first round match against Sydney University who had lost their last two games. This time the scoreboard read 1-1 when the final whistle sounded, leaving the Scorpions at seventh and Uni at tenth.
Spirit FC had lost last week?s match but they had won 3-2 in their last meeting with Fraser Park who had lost their last four matches. The teams had to be happy with a share of the spoils this time as the match ended at 1-1, leaving Spirit at eighth and Fraser Park at thirteenth.
In a Round 14 catch-up match the Skillaroos were 3-2 winners over West Sydney Berries, completing the double as the Skillaroos were 3-0 winners the first time around. In Round 17 catch-up action Granville Rage rolled Blacktown Spartans with a 1-0 result, reversing the first round outcome when the Spartans had won by the same scoreline.
Grade 14
Central Coast had gone sixteen games without loss including the 1-1 first round draw with Dulwich Hill who had taken their own unbeaten run to three games. This time Central Coast took all the points with a 1-0 result and they are four points clear at the top of the table while Dully are in third place.
Spirit FC came into this game on the end of an unbeaten sequence of four matches and in the first round they had battled out a scoreless draw with Fraser Park who had lost their most recent match. Once again, there was nothing between the teams as they fought it out for a 1-1 draw, leaving Spirit in second spot and Fraser Park at fourth.
Sydney University were coming off a last game loss but they had taken the first round points with a 3-0 win over Schofields Scorpions who had lost their last four games. Uni grabbed the points once again, although the scoreline was a lot closer this time at 3-2, and they have remained at fifth while the Scorpions are still thirteenth.
Mounties Wanderers had taken points from their last three games but they had lost by the odd goal in seven when they last met Granville Rage who were coming off a last match loss. This time the teams split the points when the match finished at 1-1 and that has left the Wanderers at sixth and Rage at ninth.
Blacktown Spartans dropped back one place to eighth when they had the bye this week.
Western NSW Panthers had picked up points from their last two matches and they had won 2-1 when they last faced Northern Tigers who had lost their most recent game. On this occasion the teams settled for a share of the points as their match finished at 1-1, an outcome that pushed Western up one place to seventh and left Northern at eleventh.
Macarthur Rams had lost their last two matches but they were 5-3 winners last time they met West Sydney Berries who had lost their last three games. The Berries squared the ledger this time when they produced a 1-0 victory but they have remained at twelfth position while the Rams are still tenth.
In Round 17 catch-up action Granville Rage produced a 1-0 win over Blacktown Spartans after their first round clash was a 1-1 draw. That has allowed Rage to scoot up the table to sixth spot.
Grade 15
Mounties Wanderers had won their last two games and they had won 3-1 in their first round clash with Granville Rage who had lost their last two matches. The Wanderers were able to complete the double when they produced a 4-0 victory this time around and they are one point clear at the top of the table while Rage have slipped back one place to thirteenth.
Dulwich Hill had an unbeaten run of eight matches and they had battled out a 1-1 first round draw with Central Coast who were coming off a last game loss. This time Central Coast claimed all the points when they were 1-0 winners and that has allowed them to climb two places to third while Dully have fallen back two places to fourth.
Spirit FC had won their last two games and they had produced a 2-0 success last time they faced Fraser Park who had won their most recent match. Spirit completed the double with a 1-0 result this week and that has stepped them up one place to second while Fraser Park are still eighth.

West Sydney Berries had lost their last game and they had gone down 3-0 last time they saw Macarthur Rams who had lost their last five matches. This week brought better news for both teams as they battled out a 1-1 draw that left the Berries at eleventh and moved the Rams up one place to twelfth.

Grade 16
Spirit FC arrived at this game with three wins from their last three matches, all without conceding a goal, and they had won 1-0 last time they faced Fraser Park who had lost their last three games. This time around the teams split the points after they battled out a scoreless draw and that has left Spirit two points clear at the top of the table while Fraser Park have moved up one place to sixth.
Granville Rage had earned points from their last four matches and they were 2-0 winners in their first round clash with Mounties Wanderers who had lost their last two games. This time Rage completed the double with a 1-0 result and that has kept them in second position while the Wanderers have remained at twelfth.

History repeated when the Panthers won 1-0 again this week and that has moved them one place up the table to third while the Tigers have slipped back one place to tenth.

The Tigers claimed the points once again this week with a 2-1 result and that has left them three points clear at the top of the table while the Panthers slipped back two places to fourth.
