Football NSW Roadshow fires up Forbes
The Football NSW Roadshow continued its promotion of the world game on Wednesday when Forbes was struck with football fever as unusually hot weather for April gripped the Botanical Gardens.
Over 100 students from St Laurence’s and Forbes North took part in an AIA Vitality MiniRoos Football Gala Day where they played in their school teams before breaking into mixed teams with the girls playing out some all-girl football games.
The afternoon saw thirty players from Forbes Soccer Club and Lachlan Association representative teams take part in special training sessions.
Lastly and following the trend, yet another Grassroots Coaching Expo was held to assist the coaches in their session preparation and in understanding the ideals in small sided football.
The Football NSW Roadshow concludes on Thursday as Parkes will be highlighted as the final destination, ending what has been a rather successful opportunity in spreading the round ball game to the Western Regions of NSW.
