FNSW Supports Premiers Sporting Challenge
The Northern Beaches Premier Sporting Challenge recently took shape at the Northern Beaches Secondary College Freshwater Campus on Thursday as Football NSW’s Coach Education staff assisted in what was a successful day.
Football NSW Coach Education Manager Oscar Gonzalez lauded the event which saw Primary and Secondary students take part in coaching sessions.
“The day was a great success which was contributed to by our professionalism, knowledge of our support, rapport with students as well as seeing the energy and drive from both Primary and Secondary students in gaining maximum participation.
“Football NSW is looking towards connecting the Northern Beaches Secondary College teachers involved and any of the student coaches that were outstanding on the day.
“The section of the Premier Sporting Challenge finishes up with eight students from each campus selected to attend a three-day Leadership & Mentor camp at Myuna Bay in August.
“No doubt the students selected will take with them many of the wonderful skills, drills and guidance that was passed onto them by the many development officers that attended on the day.”
Next year’s program has already been approved with a date penned in for early November this year during term four of the School calendar.
“This is the start of the program where you attend and teach the Year 8 and 9’s from within the Northern Beaches Secondary College the art of coaching which will be put into practice during week 8 of term 1 the following year,” Gonzalez ended.
