Smiles all round for SNAPParoos program
Southern Districts Soccer Football Association’s spiritual ground Ernie Smith Reserve was abuzz on Monday evening as Football NSW conducted a coaching evening for Grassroots certification session with the SNAPParoos alongside former Socceroo star Nick Carle.
SNAPParoos’ number one ambassador and organiser Lucy Reggio coordinated the event with Football NSW’s Coach Education Manager Oscar Gonzalez as well as Southern Districts Coaching and Development Manager, Ramsin Shamon as all participants enjoyed a fun filled evening.
“It was fantastic to see the energy and vibe that came alive that evening as all participants including coaches from all reports thoroughly enjoyed what was a successful night.
“We will be looking at joining forces with Lucy in putting together a plan in developing a coaching program to assist, aid and support current players in gaining qualifications to deliver courses for their Special Needs Programs.”
The SNAPPaRoos program provides opportunities specifically for children with special needs and adults with a disability as well as strategies to adapt for the needs of the participants.
The cost effective program in what is a welcoming and comfortable environment where there is no pressure to perform at or achieve expected “able – bodied norm” will also assist children with special needs and adults with a disability with an opportunity to integrate into mainstream society.
