With Manly United booking their place in the PlayStation4 National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s Grand Final, the Macarthur Rams and Sydney University will battle for that other spot on Sunday afternoon.

Preliminary Final

Macarthur Rams v Sydney University

Everything is on the line on Sunday afternoon at Lynwood Park as the Macarthur Rams and Sydney University do battle.

The prize, a spot in next weekend’s Grand Final against the fantastic Manly United.

Football is a cruel game but one of these two fine sides will finish their season on Sunday, while the other will fight for the Championship trophy.

Finishing top of the league and claiming the Premiership, the Rams have the tendency to fall at some point of the finals series.

They’ll have the opportunity to set the record straight on Sunday and if successful finally bring the Championship home.

Their team is full of class, from between the sticks with Sham Khamis and the Ralston sisters in defence, to matilda Teresa Polias in midfield.

They’re no shorter in quality at the pointy end with Kylie Ledbrook, Leena Khamis, Kristina Maksuti and the recently returned Amy Harrison posing danger to the Uni defence.

The Champions let go of their Premiership title but won’t let go of the other that easy.

Heather Garriock’s side was ruthless to say the least in an outstanding performance on Saturday against the Illawarra Stingrays.

Georgia Yeoman-Dale’s long lay off with injury seems to have reinvigorated her as she was a joy to watch against the Stingrays.

With the anchor Liana Danaskos back in midfield after her own injury issues and Amy Sayer playing just ahead of her, Uni’s machine is ready for any challenge.

Evelyn Chronis and Steph Ambrose are always good for a goal and will pose a threat for the Rams.

The real strength of Uni may lie in their bench with the likes of Georgi Plessas, Nikki Flannery and Mel Caceres all proven game changers.

When the sides met the first time this season an entertaining 2-2 draw was the outcome while the Rams won 2-1 only a few weeks ago, possibly giving them the mental edge heading into this one.

Nothing less than a blockbuster awaits us on Sunday afternoon at Lynwood where hopefully a large crowd will meet us, something these girls have deserved through this season.
