In these unprecedent times the state is currently experiencing, it was heart-warming to see Canterbury & District Soccer Football Association club Hurlstone Park Wanderers do their bit in donating all its excess food and drink stock from the canteen to the Addison Road Community Centre for people doing it tough during lockdown.

After the local CDSFA football season was cut short due to the pandemic, the club realised that it had to get rid of its excess canteen stock prior to going out of date which led them down the pathway of donating to the Addison Road Community Centre.

Club Vice-President Gerry Choate alongside Age Coordinator Alanna Stevens both played their part in assisting Addison Road Community Ambassador, former Socceroo Craig Foster, with this incredible donation.

“It’s amazing to see Hurlstone Park Wanderers who’ve come along and given us their excess food and drink for vulnerable communities,” said Foster.

“It’s a message for another other clubs, please, do what Hurlstone Park Wanderers have done, this goes to vulnerable and needy people.”
