Round 4 Preview – League One Women’s

Round 4 in the Football NSW League One Women’s competition is set up for a fascinating weekend of action across both Saturday and Sunday.
The six games that will make up the slate offers up opportunities for all 13 teams. The Match of the Round sees Bankstown City Lions FC host Nepean FC.
Let’s get onto the preview.
Match of the Round: Bankstown City Lions FC vs Nepean FC, Sunday 23 March, 5pm, Jensen Park
Bankstown City Lions FC face off against Nepean FC in their game at Jensen Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Lions aim to get back in the winner’s circle after their 4-0 loss to South Coast Flame FC down at Kembla Grange.
Winger Heba El Saddik will be full of energy in helping to push the Lions forward and getting her first goal of the season.
They have endured an up and down start to the season so might look at this game to get started on a winning run.
Nepean FC were beaten 7-1 against the high-flying Central Coast Mariners in their game at Cook Park.
It was a tough game but Nepean FC did find the back of the net through Caitlin Abbass for her maiden goal of the campaign.
The visitors have found the back of the net in two of their three games this season and hope they can turn that into a win.

Sutherland Strikers FC vs Central Coast Mariners FC, Saturday 22 March, 4:30pm, Harrie Denning Centre
Sutherland Strikers FC host Central Coast Mariners FC at Harrie Denning Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The Strikers will be ready to bounce back after their 4-0 defeat against local rivals St George FC last weekend.
Captain Dianne Wilson will lead from the front for the Strikers in their attempt to hand the Mariners their first defeat.
Alongside her, Abbey Harrison and Lily Warnes will be heavily involved in their attack going forward.
Central Coast Mariners FC were rampant in their 7-1 romp against Nepean FC in their travels last Sunday.
Peyton Scollay took the headlines in the win with a blistering first half hat-trick and she will be ready for a repeat dose on Sunday.
The Mariners spend the first two months of the campaign on the road and will be looking to bank as many points as possible.
SD Raiders FC vs South Coast Flame FC, Sunday 23 March, 3pm, Cirillo Reserve
SD Raiders FC welcome South Coast Flame FC to their home at Cirillo Reserve on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts took bragging rights in their 2-0 win against Camden Tigers FC at the same venue last weekend.
Young midfielder Madeleine Malone netted her first goal of the season in the result and has been a key contributor since joining mid-season last year.
SD Raiders FC controlled the whole game last week and they will need a similar performance against one of the early pace setters.
South Coast Flame FC were 4-0 winners against Bankstown City Lions FC to kick off Round 3 last Saturday.
The Flame have won back-to-back games scoring nine goals so this game is set up to be a mouth watering contest.
Abbey Crapp has scored in both those wins and the former Stingray has made a solid start to life in League One Women’s.
Inter Lions FC vs Blacktown Spartans FC, Sunday 23 March, 5pm, Majors Bay Reserve
Inter Lions FC face off against Blacktown Spartans FC in their game at Majors Bay Reserve on Sunday afternoon.
The Lions are back in action on home turf after a week off due to the bye in the League One Women’s competition.
Their win this season came at Majors Bay Reserve so they will want to channel that again on Sunday afternoon.
They might look to Mia Micalizzi and captain Zoe Katsionis to pull the strings in midfield to feed their attacking force.
Blacktown Spartans FC went down 1-0 against Marconi Stallions FC in the Match of the Round last weekend.
Despite the loss, coach Lachlan Raymond was pleased with their defensive effort and wants them to repeat that again on Sunday.
Both Priya Gakhar and Rebeca Barreto Rodrigues were energetic up top for the Spartans and will be sniffing out for goals.
Camden Tigers FC vs Hills United FC, Sunday 23 March, 5pm, Ron Din Reserve
Camden Tigers FC take on Hills United FC in a game played at Ron Dine Reserve on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers battled hard before falling 2-0 to SD Raiders FC in their local derby last weekend.
Custodian Samantha Fulwood might need a big game on Sunday to help the Tigers repel the potent Hills United FC attack.
Top scorer from last season, Lisa Fressard has featured from the bench thus far and her goal scoring ability will be needed against the leaders.
Hills United FC continued their strong start to the season with a comfortable 5-0 result against Blacktown City FC.
Ellen Berios has fashioned herself as a super sub for Hills United FC which she showed off with the fifth goal last weekend and is a weapon for the side late in games.
Three wins on the trot has Hills United FC at the top of the table and setting up a solid pace for the chasing peloton.
Blacktown City FC vs Marconi Stallions FC, Sunday 23 March, 5pm, Landen Stadium
Blacktown City FC host Marconi Stallions FC in their clash at Landen Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts were blown away in the second half in their 5-0 loss to Hills United FC at Valentine Sports Park.
Zoe Zaczek returned the Blacktown City FC starting line-up and she might give them some extra juice against the Stallions.
For Blacktown City FC, they need to find a way to manufacture some goals being the only side who hasn’t found the back of the net yet in 2025.
Marconi Stallions won 1-0 in the Match of the Round against Blacktown Spartans FC in Rooty Hill.
While the Stallions only won the game 1-0, they underlined their strength in attack with Marie Herrera and Laura Malagon Avila both starring.
Coach Michael Beauchamp has set up them up well defensively which will make the Stallions a tough team to beat.
