No red carpet treatment for superstar Bosnich
The ex-Socceroo shot-stopper, regarded as this country?s best ever custodian, is attempting to resurrect his career via a 10-game stint in Australia?s second tier competition and while Moss welcomed the profile he brought the league, he said there would be no room for sentiment.
?Mark Bosnich is a legend of the game and a genuine superstar,? Moss said this week.
?But at the end of the day he will just be another goalkeeper we have to score past for 90 minutes on Sunday if we are serious about challenging this season.
?He is a little rusty from his time out of the game and we will be doing our best to test him out and make sure he wakes up sore on Monday morning from all the diving around.
?We are absolutely determined to win this game of football on Sunday and get back on track after two draws and a washout in the last three weeks.?
Manly United sits in second spot seven points adrift of league leaders Sydney United ? but with two games in hand against Marconi and Bonnyrigg.
The peninsula side has a tough run home with Sydney Olympic (h), Penrith (a), Wollongong (a), Blacktown (h), Bankstown (a), Sydney United (h), Marconi (h) and Bonnyrigg (a) standing between them and a spot in the finals.
There is also the Tiger Turf Cup campaign with Manly facing Bonnyrigg next Wednesday night (July 1) in a tough quarter final showdown.
?Footballers play and coaches coach for games and we have plenty coming up and a tough run home,? Moss said.
?But I see that as the perfect scenario. I?ve always said if you want to be the best you have to beat the best and this run home will sort us out one way or the other.
?I?m really looking forward to the next stage of this season starting with Olympic on Sunday and I?m confident the players will stand up and be counted.
?There will be nowhere to hide between now and the last day of the season.?
Olympic will bring its full array of attacking talent to Cromer Park with Anthony Doumanis, Mathew Mayora, Adam Biddle and Tolgay Ozbey all available.
It promises to be a battle of the heavyweights with Spencer Prior and Matthew Bingley marshalling the stingy Manly United defence.
Kick-off at Cromer Park on Sunday is at 3pm following the Grade 20s at 12.30pm and Grade 18s at 10.30am.
The all-new Ray?s Pizza & Pasta Caf? will be open from 11am as will John Greco?s canteen.
Gates open at 10am.
