FNSW Roadshow continues in Young
The Football NSW Roadshow continued its promotion in Western NSW on Tuesday as many as 200 lucky school kids from St Mary’s, Young North Public School and Young School took part in an AIA Vitality MiniRoos Schools Gala Day at Gus Smith Oval.
Twenty-six teams were established and forty-eight matches were played over two hours as Football NSW’s Oscar Gonzalez and Andrew Fearnley took charge in what was a fantastic day for the sport.
Extra training sessions were then organised for 30 excited Young Soccer Club players in what was a fine day of football in Young, Gonzalez also held a special Coaches Workshop where local coaches were able to gain great insights into the skill training principles.
Excited local coach Scott Lacey was delighted with the Roadshow concept and stated the intent of hopefully bringing back more football exposure to the town of Young.
“We are looking at getting Football NSW back here running a special Skill Training Certificate course and another workshop to help aid and assist our coaches.
“We hope to have that booked in after a few rounds of our local competitions here which doesn’t start until the end of the month.”
