On Sunday at Calabria Sports Ground, White City maintained their lead at the top of the Southern Conference League with a 5-1 victory over Greenisland SFC.
Alavanja opened the scoring for the home side after just 7 minutes, before Konak equalized for Greenisland at the half hour mark.
But White City stepped up a gear in the second half, with Alavanja grabbing two more goals on 49 and 84 minutes to complete his hatrick. Quattrone (53?) and Phillips (68?) scored the other goals for the league leaders.
At Ron Dine Reserve on Sunday afternoon, Camden Tigers kept up the pressure on White City by thrashing the hapless Fairfield Bulls by the remarkable score of 16-0.
Camden lead by 5-0 at the break, and went on with the job in the second half, scoring at will, including four goals in the last ten minutes.
Matayalo and MacDonald both scored second half hatricks, whilst Mackechnie and Bazdaric grabbed braces in the rout.
This week?s Round 9 match between Hakoah and Sydney Cedars has been postponed, and is due to be played next Monday, June 9, at Seymour Shaw Park, kicking off at 3pm.
Colo Colo Wanderers had the bye this weekend.
