Football Stars of Tomorrow Episode 16

BRENDAN GAN & CHRIS PAYNE: The NSW Telechoice Premier League is proving to
be the perfect breading ground for the Hyundai A-League. Sydney FC has been
quick to recruit two special young talents – Sutherland Sharks attacking
midfielder BRENDAN GAN and Manly United’s teenage striker CHRIS PAYNE. This
week we profile these two special players.
CHERYL SALISBURY CUP: It’s rare to have any Football Tournament named after
you but the inaugural Cheryl Salisbury Cup is certainly here to stay! Named
after our most capped male or female international, this Tournament featured
16 teams from NSW in the Under 12 age category.
FOOTBALL RULZ: NSW Telechoice referee KRIS GRIFFITHS JONES, currently in
England on a fact-finding mission, looks at the obvious part of our game –
the BALL!!
CROSSBAR CHALLENGE: It’s back and certainbly with a difference as enigmatic
Manly United midfielder CRAIG MIDGLEY takes on the AUSTRALIAN DEAF Football
Team in a crossbar challenge!!

returns with more special coaching tips at a time when he has launched a new

TIGER TURF CUP FINAL: Two dramatic penalty shoot-out semi-finals resulted in
SYDNEY OLYMPIC and BANKSTOWN CITY LIONS reaching the final of the Tiger Turf
Cup. The final wasn’t decided by the dreaded penalty shoot-out but there was
enough excitement and passion during 90 minutes which produced four goals!!
GOAL OF THE WEEK: Three more contenders are in line to win a great gift pack
from ERREA – NICK SULLIVAN (Lilli Pilli), CALLUM HENSON (Sutherlands Park) &
LUCAS CAMILLERI (Ramsgate RSL). Who will be our winner??
