Sydney Magic    7      Mascot Vipers    2

Andreas Gomez turned in a man of the match performance scoring four times to lead the Magic to victory in a clinical display of counter attacking Futsal against fellow top of the table leaders the Mascot Vipers.
Sydney Magic got off to the best possible start early on when Maloney carried the ball quickly out of defence down the right side then passed to Gomez who side stepped a couple of challenges to slot the ball home.
The Magic then made it 2-0 when Fazzalaro dispossessed a Vipers player took the ball down court passed the ball to Gomez looming in support and he coolly slotted the ball home.
Billy Dimitropoulos then went close when he twice lobbed the ball over his head past a defender but his goal attempt went wide.
The half settled into a pattern of the Vipers dominating possession with quick and skilful passing and movement with Yav Ekinci at the heart of most of their play. Sydney Magic were defending solidly denying their opponents space and then swiftly counter attacking.
The Vipers got back into the game when Nick Hanna accurately lifted the ball over the defence for Yav Ekinci to run on to and reduce the deficit to 2-1.  Almost immediately after PCYC keeper Peter Spathis was at full stretch to snatch the ball off the feet of Ekinci and prevent a certain goal.
After the break Christian Berrios went close with a shot from distance and the immediate counter attack down court saw a Fazzalaro goal bound shot deflect away for a corner.
PCYC then opened up a significant lead when Gomez picked the ball up deep in his own half carried the ball forward passed to Calixto who passed slipped the ball back for Gomez to run on and slam the ball home to make it 3-1.
Gomez then scored his and the Magics fourth goal when Peter Spathis quickly released the ball down court to Gomez who got behind the defence to neatly nick the ball over the advancing keeper. The Magic then put the game out of reach when Billy Dimitropoulos received the ball with his back to goal then swivelled around and slammed the ball home to make it 5-1.
The Vipers gave themselves some hope when Jeffery Issa robbed a defender ran on and slotted the ball past the keeper.  Just after Cristian Berrios slipped the ball to Robert Issa whose shot crashed against the upright and away to safety.
But the Vipers hope was short lived as Calixto grabbed two late goals for the Magic to seal a fine 7-2 victory.
The Magic sealed the win on the back of a disciplined and hard working defensive performance that denied and frustrated a skilful Vipers team any space to work in and a clinical counter attacking display when going forward.
