After Monday’s goal fest, Day two of the Cheryl Salisbury Cup saw a number of close results at Blacktown Football Park.
Sides looked to tighten up defensively and it was reflected on the pitch with most matches decided by only one goal.
St George kicked off the action with a 1-0 victory against Sutherland association before MaCarthur secured a 2-1 win against Central Coast Mariners Academy.
Sutherland Shire WPL battled it out for a scorless draw with reigning Cheryl Salisbury Cup title holders Northbridge FC while the match between Nepean FC and Western NSW also ended locked at 0-0.
Sydney Uni was one of the few big winners on the day beating Manly 3-0 as was Blacktown Spartans who also claimed a 3-0 triumph against NWS Koalas.
The final Match of the day saw Parramatta Lady Hawks and Gladesville Ravens share the points with a 1-1 draw.
