The Northern Tigers Women are delighted to announce former Socceroo Gerry Gomez as their new head coach for the 2014.

After a very successful first season in 2013 in the Premier League, the top competition in NSW women’s football, the Northern Tigers Women are now looking to build the club for future success with this appointment.

The clubs success in 2013 was built off the back of three very strong junior teams in the U12, U14 and U16 age groups.  Collectively for the 2013 Club Championship points those three Tiger teams won more points across the season than any of their nearest geographical rivals including Manly FC,  Northbridge FC, the Central Coast Mariners, and the NWS Koalas.  A large number of these Tigers girls were selected to represent their districts at the 2013 NSW State Titles recently held in Shoalhaven and they had great success there.

Gerry Gomez comes to the role of Women’s Head Coach and Technical Director with a wealth of experience in Women’s Football. Since 2011 he has successfully coached the NWS Koalas senior team.

Gerry has also been involved with the following:

·         UTS

·         Girls State Titles

·         2013 Sydney Starts (Tour Vegas)

·         CGSSSA Girls Soccer 4.

Gerry sees a huge opportunity to continue the success of the Tigers and to bring a new Football Culture to the Tigers Female Football program.

Of his new role at the Tigers Gerry said "I am delighted to take up the role of Head Coach at Northern Tigers Women.  Over the last couple of years I have watched the development of all their junior teams and I particularly like the style and quality of football they play. I am encouraged by the opportunity to strengthen the senior squad in 2014 and to work with the girls on playing attractive, competitive football."

He went on to say "the Tigers is a real family oriented club.  I have been impressed with their facilities and in particular the atmosphere at training and on game days where everyone gets involved in making it a really fun experience in a competitive environment. The new all-weather facilities that are being built will only make the Tigers an even more professional club in the coming years”.

FNSW trials for the 2014 season commence on Sunday 27th of October and conclude on 22nd November. Exact dates, times and locations will be posted on the Northern Tigers and NSFA websites over the coming weeks.
