National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s 3 side Bankstown City FC will begin its 2018 season with a friendly encounter against NPL Men’s top tier side APIA Leichhardt Tigers tonight at 7pm at Jensen Park.

Bankstown City FC pre-season preparations for the 2018 NPL3 Men’s competition officially commence on tonight (Wednesday 14th February) with a friendly game against current NPL NSW Premiers APIA Leichhardt Tigers at Jensen Park.

Bankstown City FC’s football program has gone through a complete restructure both on and off the field following an unsuccessful campaign in 2017.

High profile coaches Jeff Suzor, Frank Mikuletic and Adrian Meneses have been appointed to revitalise the Club’s fortunes this year, with a key focus being on the attitude, fitness and professionalism of the playing staff.

Suzor was ready to get the season rolling with the aim of gaining promotion into the NPL NSW Men’s competition once more.

“I am honoured to be coaching a club with the history of Bankstown City FC – four times champions of NSW.

“The Club have given me their full support since I began and I am excited at the prospect of working with a blend of local youth and experienced players to turn Bankstown’s fortunes around this year.

“The ambition of every player in the squad and staff is to win back the respect of the club’s many supporters and the wider football community.

“There is no better way to begin our preseason then by testing our mettle against the strongest club in NSW, APIA Leichhardt Tigers – we are all eagerly anticipating the challenge.”

New additions to the squad include Bankstown local Tommy Markovski, Alfred Hess, Mirza Sehic, Norwegian player Aron Berg, Japanese import Mitsuki Nakada, along with the return of club favourite Nikola Todoroski and the experienced Jeffrey Issa.

APIA Leichhardt finished first in the state’s top tier competition last season and their squad is brimming with Young Socceroos and ex A-League talent.
