APIA Leichhardt Tigers secured a semi-final Waratah Cup tie against arch-rivals Marconi Stallions after disposing the Rockdale City Suns 3-2 in the Elimination Final at the Illinden Sports Centre on Wednesday evening.
The Suns started off the brighter of the two with a goal by Toufic Alameddine in the 31st minute however APIA’s Tasuku Sekiya restored parity a minute out from half-time.
The second half saw the visitors assert its authority with the NPL NSW Men’s leading goalscorer Jordan Murray bagging a brace before Brayden Sorge scored what was to be a consolation goal in the 89th minute for the Suns as the Tigers booked a spot in the Waratah Cup semis to face rivals the Marconi Stallions.
