Campbelltown Quake v Inner West Magic
Campbelltown Quake face a tough ask when they meet rising Inner West Magic at Minto Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The two foundation clubs go toe-to-toe for the 26th time in premier league, with Inner West holding a 14-9 advantage overall (three draws) and 15 of the run-ins decided by two goals or less.
Campbelltown are yet to taste victory this season and have lost their last three at Minto (they’ve never lost four in a row there), and they face a Magic side that’s been building form since their opening-round hiccup.
Inner West will however be without the services of Daniel Fogarty and Daniel Fornito, and Quake keeper Andrew Haim will also be missing as they leave today for Vietnam as part of the Futsalroo squad contesting the AFF tournament.
That might open it up for Campbelltown captain-coach Mark Symington to take control. He currently leads this summer’s scorer’s chart and has notched up a remarkable 17 goals in this fixture over the years, including a five-goal haul in late-2015.
UTS Northside v Mountain Majik
UTS Northside versus Mountain Majik should be a Saturday-evening cracker at PCYC Dee Why.
The hosts are joint-second and looking good for a maiden finals berth early on in the summer, but they’ll be missing captain-coach Grant Lynch who’s on Futsalroo duty and leaves Northside in the hands of a young but hardy troop.
Mountain will be whetting their lips as they look to resurrect their down-trodden season-start but they know they’ll be in for a fight.
Majik hold a slender head-to-head edge 4-3 with three draws, and they’ve both scored 25 goals against each other… all but one game has been settled by two goals or less – sit back and enjoy the show!
Eastern Suburbs Hakoah v Mascot Vipers
Hold onto your hats, folks, it’s a Saturday-evening top-of-the-table newcomer-versus-mainstay eye-catching match-up between Mascot Vipers and Eastern Suburbs Hakoah at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday evening!
Easts have stunned everyone with an electric season-spark to currently sit a point off circuit-breakers Mascot. Hakoah’s played with great maturity and desire, and the rewards are showing so far.
However, both sides are on a roll and Vipers can set a new club record of five unbeaten league games if they avoid defeat this weekend.
Easts had the better of last season’s meetings winning 5-4 and drawing 1-1 draw, with both matches held at All Sorts.
Enfield Allstars v Boomerangs FS
Boomerangs FS venture into the furnace for a Saturday-night meeting with Enfield Allstars at Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre.
Defending champions Enfield stumbled out of the blocks with a double-loss but are starting to hit their stride, beating Campbelltown before last week’s gutsy 4-4 draw with Inner West.
It’s close historically between the sides with Allstars edging Boomerangs 5-4, and their last meeting saw the old Rovers knock the Territorians out of the 2016/17 finals after a stellar Boomerangs summer.
