Australia Day Honours for Cahill and Foster

Former Socceroo star Tim Cahill and ex-Socceroos skipper and SBS commentator turned refugee advocate Craig Foster were both honoured for their achievements to the nation and were recognised in the 2021 Australia Day Honours list.

Known as one of Australia’s greatest ever footballers amassing 50 goals for the country, Cahill was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for services to Football and charitable work mostly with international organisations including UNICEF and Heartbeat of Football.

Foster was appointed an Officer Member of Australia (AM) for his significant service to multiculturalism, human rights and refugee support organisations as well as Football.

Football NSW would like to congratulate both men on their respective awards which are merited.
