The recent Football Australia 2006 born National Talent Identification camp held in Townsville has highlighted the importance of Football NSW’s Talent Support Program (TSP) following the news that 5 of the 13 NSW players selected to nationally participate in the camp were part of the TSP pathway.

Youngsters Pearson Kasawaya (Country TSP/Sydney FC), Nick Zdrilic (East TSP/Sydney United 58), Zac De Jesus (Far South TSP/Sydney United 58), Andre Parkes (South TSP/WSW) and Jacob Brazete (North TSP/Sydney FC) were all part of the TSP pathway.

Football NSW’s Player Development Manager Phil Myall was also invited to assist at the camp and was delighted to have seen the TSP pathway in full effect.

“Being involved in the camp was a fantastic learning experience for the boys and myself.

“Working alongside member federation staff from Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia as well as Football Australia staff, the camp allowed us to benchmark our local talents against the best from around the country, and therefore assist us in our ongoing talent identification processes.

“It was personally really pleasing to see the 5 boys journey from NPL and TSP, some of which have since signed to A-League academies and have then gone on to National Team level.

“I believe it shows the importance of the TSP in supporting the talented players who sit outside the A-League academies with extra high level match minutes and coaching, to help continue their development.”
