Football NSW launches 2025 registration campaign
Following a record-breaking season which saw over 260,000 players register, Football NSW is looking to break new ground in 2025 as part of the national Play Football campaign.
With football strengthening its position as Australia’s largest participation sport, the national campaign emphasises football as a place everyone can belong.
Football NSW CEO, John Tsatsimas, was proud of the game’s ongoing growth across the state.
“Football continues to be the sport of choice for the NSW and Australian community, providing a positive environment for participants of all ages and abilities,” he said.
“We have had unprecedented growth in players, coaches, referees and volunteers, with exponential growth in the female game.
“There’s a place for everyone in our sport and we look forward to welcoming new and returning participants for the 2025 season.”
In 2024 alone, Football NSW enjoyed a 9% growth in players, representing over 20,000 more individuals playing the game.
Backed by 17% growth, female players represented almost half of the 2024 player growth, with 9,181 new women and girls taking to the field.
Football NSW encourages interested players to register early to secure a position with your local Club.
