SD Raiders FC striker Abigail Boag is looking at spoiling Hills United’s party by clinching the Championship title this Sunday at Valentine Sports Park.

Boag has risen through the ranks at the club starting in the u13s and progressing all the way through to the first grade since.

She was also present the last time SD Raiders FC won the Grand Final under Catherine Cannuli’s leadership back in 2017.

Speaking to Football NSW before the clash, Boag talked about how special the occasion would be for them.

“Winning the Grand Final would be a great way to show off our hard work in recent years and it would be quite special.”

“I was in the stands with the u13s when they beat APIA Leichhardt FC in 2017 and now I stand besides Catherine Cannuli coaching the youth which is amazing.”

Boag has lit up the League One Women’s competition this season, scoring 13 goals in the campaign and told us her favourite.

“My favourite had to be the left foot volley from a corner to win the game against Hills United FC back in Round 18.”

The front three for SD Raiders FC has been a potent attack and Boag has loved working alongside Taiana Almeida and Sarah Mandile.

“I love playing with them, our chemistry has grown so much across the year and the best aspect is that whenever there is a mistake, they are always the first voice cheering you on.”

That just adds to how Boag says that the club feels like a family and they have really come together this year.

“It is the first season it has all clicked for us which is a credit to our coaches and the club is like a family to everyone across the whole group.

“[Bojan] Radmilo has put in a lot of effort in creating relationships with each player and knows what buttons to press to get us to perform our best.

“He also gives us all the information we need and it allows us to be whoever we want to be and enjoy our time.”

Talking about the decider on Sunday, Boag was confident in her side’s ability to get it done against a side they haven’t lost to all season.

“It is going to be a tough game because they are a good team and will bring their best so the game will come down to the big moments and whoever takes their chance.”

The FNSW League One Women’s Grand Final will be streamed LIVE on the FNSW YouTube channel Sunday night, 6:15pm with the commentary team of Eric Subijano and David Feeney.
