Football NSW Strongly Represented in Inaugural Australian Championship Final Appointments

Football NSW will feature prominently on the national stage this Saturday, with Referee Eric Saba and Assistant Referees Cameron Wright and Alessandro Llana appointed to officiate the inaugural Australian Championship Final between South Melbourne FC and National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW side Marconi Stallions at the Olympic Village.

This trio’s appointment is a significant recognition of the state’s refereeing strength, demonstrating the quality, depth, and development within the Football NSW pathway. Saba, Wright, and Llana have each produced consistently high performances throughout the season, earning strong praise from assessors and clubs alike. Their selection for the Championship’s first-ever Final underscores their progression toward regular appointments in the Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s competition.

Saba has been entrusted with leading the officiating team, a testament to his calm authority and exceptional match management. Wright and Llana will support on the touchlines following standout seasons that have included appointments to major NPL NSW Grand Finals in recent years.
