NSW Referees Named on FIFA International Referee List for 2026

A number of NSW match officials have been recognised with selection on the 2026 FIFA International Referee Lists, reflecting the strength of the state’s refereeing pathways and its continued contribution to the international game.

Among those appointed is NSW referee Tim Danaskos, who has been named on the FIFA International Referee List for the first time in his career—an outstanding milestone reflecting years of dedication and elite performance.

Danaskos began his refereeing journey in the St George region in 2009 before progressing through the NSW State League Referees pathway. He made his debut in the A-League Men competition in August 2020 and is currently a member of the AFC Referee Academy, continuing to develop his skills on the international stage.

Football Australia Head of Refereeing Jon Moss praised the latest appointments, highlighting the strength of Australian refereeing on the global stage.

“The addition of Georgia, Tim, Paula, Maria, Adam and Daniel to the FIFA International Referee Lists is a significant milestone and a reflection of the depth, quality, and consistency of refereeing in Australia.

“Each has demonstrated strong performance, professionalism, and the ability to operate under pressure at the highest domestic level, earning their progression to the international stage.”
