Football NSW Announces New Foundation of Football Coaching Courses
Volunteer coaches across NSW can get pre-season ready in just one day with the upcoming Foundation of Football (FoF) courses at Valentine Sports Park.
Designed for community and volunteer coaches, the Foundation of Football provides practical, repeatable tools to confidently lead a team into the new season. The course is aimed at coaches of players aged 5–11, but is also suitable for advanced beginners up to approximately 15 years old, as well as novice adult teams.
The course focuses on creating a safe and enjoyable learning environment, delivering engaging sessions, and coaching through games. Participants receive pre-designed training plans for the full season, helping remove the pressure of weekly planning. The course is largely practical, not graded, and encourages discussion and shared learning.
The Foundation of Football is also the prerequisite for coaches wishing to complete the Football Australia/AFC C Diploma.

Registration Information:
- There are two online modules to complete prior to the course starting on the Role of a Coach, and Game Day Environments. Please ensure these two modules are completed before the course starts
