Met West & Met North Clinch State Titles

Met West in the 13 Boys and Met North in the 14 Boys were crowned Football NSW State Titles Champions as the week long tournament concluded in both Yerrinbool Oval and Valentine Sports Park on Friday.

The 13 Boys category was played in fantastic spirit at Yerrinbool as Met West coached by Matten Olumee proved too slick for their opponents from various regional and metropolitan areas clinching top spot with 20 points taking out six victories and drawing two without a loss while Met South finished up runners up with 17 points.

Country Riverina, coached by Ross Morgan, claimed bragging rights by being crowned Country Championship winners with Western NSW finishing runners up.

While in the 14 Boys at Football NSW’s Valentine Sports Park in Glenwood, Met North, coached by Safak Sagol, proved too strong for the competition as the talented squad finished up with 20 points, two points more than runners-up Met Far South.

Country Riverina, coached by Frank Pangallo, made it a special week for the region as they were crowned Country Championship winners while Southern NSW clinched second spot.

These Football NSW State Titles are conducted annually and are an essential part of the recognised player pathway for State Team selections.

State Titles are split between July and September for selection purposes with the 12 Boys, 15 Boys and 12 and 14 Girls playing out their matches from the 26 to the 30th of September while the 16 Girls staging their games from the 27th till the 29th of September.
