Girls Youth League One
The Football NSW Girls Youth League One is the first tier of girls football in the New South Wales.
The competition consists of fourteen clubs competing in four age groups U14, U15, U16 and U18 in a round-robin structure where each side plays one another twice; upon completion a Premier is crowned.
The top four sides by the end of the season compete in the Championship Series. The teams are seeded upon their entry into the Championship Series according to their final position on the ladder.
In 2025 & 2026 the Club Standards & Benchmarking framework will be implemented across the Girls Youth Leagues. The Club Standards & Benchmarking Framework is the Football NSW benchmarking, quality assurance and club support process to provide better services for our players, coaches and Clubs across the state. The Club Standards focus on youth development committed clubs by understanding their Planning, Delivery and anticipated Outcomes.
The Club Standards is comprised of five components:
- League Compliance
- Club Championships
- Football Criteria
- Technical Qualifications
- Progression & Retention
Movement between Leagues within the Girls Youth environment will be based on the accumulation of assessment points given across the five components of the Club Standards & Benchmarking framework.
Each component is weighted differently and will receive an individual score. Further information can be found within the detailed Club Standards Information pack.
Club Standards & Benchmarking Framework 2025/2026
For avoidance of doubt, there will be no movement between Girls Youth Leagues at the conclusion of the 2025 season. Movement between leagues, promotion & relegation, will only occur at the conclusion of the 2026 season.
