Football NSW Institute

Following an in-depth Player Development Review throughout the 2024 season, Football NSW is embarking upon a new era across its Girls’ Youth Leagues and Senior Women’s competitions (NPL Women’s and League One Women’s).

As part of the changes being implemented, the Football NSW Institute program will cease operations at the end of the 2024 season.

2013 was the inaugural year for the FNSWI. The Institute unified the previous Skilleroos, New South Wales Institute of Sport and Skill Acquisition Programs for boys and girls into a clearly defined structure, aligned to the Football Federation Australia Integrated Talented Player Pathway. Since 2016 the FNSWI has focused on the talented player pathway for girls.

We strive to offer NSW’s young players the best possible learning environment so they can realise their footballing dreams.

The Football NSW Institute is the official elite development program for girls U13 to U17 and it provides talented footballers a training environment, consistent with FA policies, that delivers the highest standard of coaching and best platform for those players to realise their personal ambitions of becoming professional footballers and representing their country.
