Female Referees Steal the Spotlight

The lucky trio officiated the two matches last week at Macquarie University where the girls gained an enormous buzz in kick-starting their hopeful international refereeing careers.

Sutherland Shire Football Referees Association Appointments Officer Bruce Walton expressed his delight in what the trio had achieved.

?It is tremendous.

?We are absolutely rapt as they all have worked hard for it over the years.

?It?s a huge opportunity for them to further their careers.

?We hope that it encourages other young females to take up refereeing,? Walton stated to ?The Leader?.

Free of Heathcote, Kinglsey of Woronora Heights and McCallum of Bonnet Bay have all been officiating for more than 13 combined years.
