Bankstown City Lions snap up James Monie
Monie was released by Manly United earlier this year and Bankstown player/manager Peter Tsekenis wasted no time in recruiting the tall and confident striker.
The signing of Monie has come at a good time for last season?s Grand Finalists as they were dealt with a minor setback losing their 2007 top goal-scorer Tallan Martin to the Marconi Stallions.
Monie has already made a huge impact since joining the Bankstown squad having scored a double in the club?s recent 6-2 rout over the West Sydney Berries during the Johnny Warren Cup.
The 25-year-old is hoping that a good two seasons at Bankstown could land him a gig once again in the A-League after he spent time with the Newcastle Jets in the 2005/2006 season.
However Monie?s thoughts are focused on doing well for Bankstown and hopefully bringing back a Championship at Jensen Park.
On the club?s other new faces, there?s already been an influx of rising stars set to make their mark at the ?Lions Den?.
Daniel Slaveski, Richard Tuntevski, Jonathon Jackson, Omar Saadi and Ibrahim Haydar have all been earmarked as players to watch out for through the young brigade coming through the club.
