Wollongong FC snap up Cahill and Bailey
Cahill had a stint in the U.S. playing for the Carolina Coasters in the Big South Conference University League.
A former Wolves junior, Cahill was also part of the NSWIS and was selected in the Australian Under 17 Joeys side that competed in the World Cup in Finland in 2003.
A promising prospect for Turner?s squad, Cahill will no doubt be one of the players to watch out for in the Wollongong FC side for 2008.
Following Cahill?s signing was also former Bulli star attacker Matthew Bailey who was also last season?s Illawarra Football Association?s Player of the Year.
Wollongong FC CEO Jock Morlando was pleased with the club agreeing to terms with Bailey.
?We are absolutely delighted to announce the signing of Matthew Bailey.
?For a long time now we have indicated our determination to be a genuine pathway for the best players in the Illawarra.
?Signing Matthew is a clear indication of our commitment to provide a platform for the best local players.?
Bailey was equally as delighted with his move to the TeleChoice Premier League.
?I am very happy with the fact I have been given the opportunity for a chance to hopefully show what I can do at the next level.
?This is a very good standard and I will need to get used to the pace of the game.
?I encourage any future players in the Illawarra competition if they aspire to go further to give this a go.
?I am looking forward to a successful season with Wollongong FC.?
