Gecko?s Shine at Johnny Warren Cup Final

The players participated in a training sessions before heading to Seymour Shaw where six players had the honour of walking the FIFA fair play banner out onto the field before the final featuring Sutherland Sharks and Sydney Olympic.
Throughout the game the NSW Indigenous Gecko teams had the privilege of getting up close to the action as ball boys and girls as well as the honour of playing a game in the half time interval, providing the crowd with very entertaining eight V eight games.
In the boys game the Gecko?s took on players from the Johnny Warren Football Foundation Program. The Gecko?s performed brilliantly against players who have been training together for some time now, showing off some of the new skills they learnt during the two camps. The Gecko?s unfortunately were defeated 2-0.
The girls game saw the Gecko?s face players from the Football NSW Junior Development Program (JDP). Both teams battled hard during the game with some great play. The game finished 1-0 in favour of the Football NSW JDP squad.
