NSW well represented in Matildas? Trans-Tasman series whitewash

Australia defender (7) Heather Garriock. Norway tied Australia 1-1 in their FIFA Women's World Cup China 2007 Group C opening round match at Hangzhou Dragon Stadium in Hangzhou, China on September 15, 2007.

The Matildas made their first appearance on home soil since the FIFA Women?s World Cup in China last September through the Trans-Tasman Series against the Kiwis.

The Matildas commenced preparations for May?s AFC Women?s Asian Cup with victory in all three-matches against New Zealand on the Sunshine Coast.

Glohe and Rollason, both members of last year?s Young Matildas squad, earned their debut call-ups under the watchful eye of Matildas head coach Tom Sermanni.

Sermanni was pleased with the way the Matildas faired against New Zealand which has put his side in good stead for the up and coming Asian Cup in May.

“The series was very beneficial giving us some quality time on the pitch together, and I also had the opportunity to blood some younger players at international level,? Sermanni stated to the FFA website.
