‘Shark Attack’ Boardman Style

More must be said also on the Sharks? most potent attacking weapon in big burly striker Brad Boardman who has made huge headlines since his move from Penrith Nepean United to Sutherland this year.
The 25-year-old has impressed many TeleChoice Premier League spectators thus far with his imposing presence and ability to throw himself at anything and everything, Boardman has quickly become a cult hit at Seymour Shaw Stadium.
?It?s been a great start to the year by the club to have three wins and a draw leading up to the Easter Break is terrific and it?s put as in great stead in aspiring to play finals football this season.
?Personally I?ve been pleased with how things have gone too, but football is a team sport and a team effort and we?re lucky that we?ve been able to assemble a great bunch of guys who have put in 100% in getting the necessary results as well as getting together a great coaching staff with Brian Brown and Cliff Pointer at the helm.?
Boardman has been the talk of the TeleChoice Premier League thus far as the big number 9 has managed to etch his name as joint ?Andreas? top goalscorer for 2008 with five goals in four matches alongside Manly United?s Robbie Cattanach.
?I?m over the moon with that at the moment but it?s a long season and I have to remain consistent in the hope of hitting the back of the net as many times as possible as the games roll on.
?I don?t want to get too ahead of myself but I am aiming to score as many goals as I can in 2008.?
One trophy Boardman would love to have in his trophy cabinet at the end of the season would be the Andreas Golden Boot award.
?That?s certainly one of my aims for this year as I?d love to have that but first things first, I?d really love to play finals football with the Sharks.?
With the Easter Break in full swing, no TeleChoice Premier League games have been scheduled although Sutherland Sharks will be taking on Super League outfit St George in the Leader Charity Challenge this Saturday at Seymour Shaw Stadium with kick-off set for 4pm.
The Sharks? next task after the Easter Break concludes is taking on joint TeleChoice Premier League leaders Sydney United at Seymour Shaw Stadium on March 29 which has already been billed as ?Match of the Round?.
?It?s certainly by no means going to be an easy game and we will be definitely expecting a tough challenge from Sydney United but I am sure the boys will be more than up for this clash, especially being at home as well.
?All the lads have their minds set on one thing and that?s continuing the consistent form we?ve hit so far.?
Boardman has harboured endeavors to hopefully play in the A-League and got a sniff of what the standard was like when he trained with Frank Farina?s Queensland Roar side prior to the TeleChoice Premier League season commencing this season.
?It was an awesome experience training with fully fledged professionals everyday is something I hope to do in my career.
?The atmosphere at the Roar was very professional and they had a number of exceptional talents but it gave me an insight on how hard I have to work in order of getting to that stage one day which I hope to achieve.?
Aside from being a footballer, Boardman has indulged into coaching like his father Norm, who is currently Football NSW?s Technical Director, at Knox Grammar School.
?Knox Grammar is a great school to be a part of in the coaching department as they have a great set-up with facilities and equipment which make things so much easier.
?In summer, I take care of the Basketball side while in winter, I have two football squads which I oversee as head coach.?
