Conference League Northern Round Four Review
Mother Nature played her hand over the weekend, forcing the postponement of two of the four games in the Northern Conference.
The eagerly-awaited Prospect Utd-Hawkesbury City match, as well as the Penang FC-Gladesville Ryde Magic clash, were called off due to waterlogged pitches, and will be replayed at a date and venue to be announced.
Alec Lamberton Field at Bathurst did not suffer any such verdict as the home side played host to the travelling Balmain SC. Gothe-Snape put the visitors in front on 9 minutes, with Bathurst ?75 top scorer Dowling equalizing just two minutes later with his 3rd goal of the season.
Gothe-Snape proved to be the difference between the two sides, grabbing a hat trick with two well taken penalties in the second half, in the 74th and 85th minutes.  This win has maintained Balmain?s perfect start to the season with their fourth successive victory from as many starts, and catapults them to the head of the ladder, partly as a result of the postponement of Hawkesbury City?s match.
At Luddenham Oval, the impressive Roosters FC went on a rampage, thrashing the home side by 9-0. Two players, playmaker and captain Topal, and Rashid, both scored impressive hat tricks, whilst Girgin grabbed a brace of goals and Yagci scored the other.
The Roosters were 4-0 up after 24 minutes, and went on with the job in the second half to put them right up amongst the pacesetters of the competition.
Springwood had the weekend off, via the bye, not the weather.
