Spirit FC set to face the Central Coast Mariners
The Mariners will be showing off some of their prized new signings for season 2008-2009 with the likes of star recruits Ahmad Elrich and Dylan Macallister set to make their debuts alongside fellow team-mates Dean Heffernan, John Hutchinson, Greg Owens, Sasho Petrovski and Nik Mrdja to name a few.
The Mariners have played their state wide counterparts twice previously and have recorded 2-0 wins on both occasions.
When the two sides first met at Pluim Park in June 2006, goals from Adam Kwasnik and Damien Brown earned the Mariners bragging rights before strikes from Matthew Osman and Nik Mrdja repeated the dose one year later.
Spirit FC?s Director of Football Tony Walmsley has been eagerly anticipating this clash which no doubt will see his chargers put the A-League boys to the test in what should be a decent crowd at Christie Park.
Players such as Paul Nicolaou, Jason Van Blerk, Felipe, Tim Simpson, Jeremy Brown and Brendan Griffin to name a few are just some of the Spirit FC names to keep a watchful eye on during the duel.
Spirit FC hasn?t stopped there in spreading the gospel according to football.
The club will be hosting the only official Manchester United Soccer Schools program in July at Christie Park.
The program is already full but the coaches (all from the UK) will be required to conduct some free community service visits during their stay.
This has been seen as a great opportunity for schools (Grades 3-6) in experiencing free programs.
The Manchester United Soccer School program will be conducting 18 free classes in Sydney in July.
