Mariners Budgewoi bound for pre-season
Frank Millington Field offers the Mariners a top class pitch to continue their pre-season preparations, as well as outstanding peripheral facilities to best assist the Mariners with their Hyundai A-League 2008/09 assault.
Home to Central Coast Premier League front runners and current Central Coast Cup holders Budgewoi FC, Frank Millington Field is located at the very northern tip of the Central Coast, ensuring that the Mariners continue to be equally representative of all Central Coast regions.
The social side of Budgewoi Soccer Club, which is owned and operated by the Wyong Rugby League Club Group (WRLCG), includes club, dining and change room facilities that are second to none on the Central Coast, which has seen the WRLCG win four out of the last five Clubs of NSW awards for Encouragement of Sport.
“The goodwill towards the Mariners from everyone at Budgewoi Soccer Club has been absolutely first class and the arrangement they have offered us with Frank Millington Field, the club?s Angkasa Malaysian restaurant and other peripheral facilities at their Budgewoi premises is truly outstanding,” said Mariners Football Manager Lawrie McKinna.
“By moving some of our training sessions to Frank Millington Field, we are providing our players with a truly first class playing surface to best prepare for what will be an exhaustive season ? one that requires all facets of our preparations to be spot on.
“Everyone at the Mariners would like to thank everyone at Budgewoi Soccer Club for making this arrangement possible, one that exemplifies the spirit of the Central Coast community and one that we hope and believe will prove to be of mutual benefit.”
The Mariners will train at Frank Millington Field for the first time tomorrow (Monday, 12 May) at 10am, eight days out from their opening trial match of the new season against the Central Coast Lightning at Pluim Park.
