An extra time goal from player of the tournament Matthew Lewis against the Hunter Region sealed the victory for the Sydney West Region side.
Both regional teams had made their way through the competition undefeated, deserving of their spots in the final after Hunter comprehensively won their semi final 4-0 against North Coast and Sydney West fought off a dogged Sydney East 1-0 in the other semi.
Matthew Lewis from Sydney West was outstanding throughout the week and was named player of the tournament. Suggesting he can be an elite player of the future, this exciting athlete finished with memorable and winning goals in both the semi final and final.
Two representative squads of players were also announced to participate in the final State selection trials against the non government schools over the 23-24 June at Valentine Sports Park.
The NSW team will then head to Port Macquarie in August for the Australian Championships and a chance in the honour of gaining Australian Schoolboy selection for upcoming international tours in Asia.
