Super League Round 10 Preview

With a string of suspensions to deal with, could discipline bring Bonnyrigg?s bright start undone.
Rival coaches, although respectful of the White Eagles ability, have already started to pick holes in their title credentials; and it?s a long way to go until finals time. Round 10 features two top-five clashes.
It?s first-versus-second when Bonnyrigg White Eagles host Bossy Liverpool at Bonnryigg Sports Club on Saturday night (7.30pm kick-off). The White Eagles are flying high. They have overtaken early jumpers Bossy and are already eyeing off the minor premiership prize they left to grand final rivals Northern Tigers last year. Liverpool are yet to beat their cross-town neighbours in Super League, losing 4-1 and 1-0 in a forgettable 2007 campaign, and drawing 0-0 in 2006.
Granville Rage travel to Pluim Park on Saturday night to tackle Central Coast Lightning (7.30pm) in a game with serious implications for both sides. Granville are looking to bounce back from their tight 1-0 loss to Bonnyrigg last week, while Central Coast look to stay in touch with the big guns. History shows a relative closeness between the two sides with the Lightning taking both honours in 2007, 2-0 (at Pluim) and 2-1, but the Rage owning their 2006 bout with a 2-1 win and 1-1 draw (at Pluim).
Fairfield City Lions will pull out all stops to try and secure their first win of the season against Sydney University at Norford Park on Saturday night (7.30pm). Fairfield have endured a horror start to the year and sit in last place on two competition points, while Uni are starting to find their feet after a strong 4-1 win over Fraser Park last week. A 1-1 draw in 2006 and 3-0 win to Uni at the start of 2007 looks good for the visitors, but the Lions were solid in a 2-0 win at Norford late last year.
Top-five sides Fraser Park Dragons and PCYC Parramatta Eagles go head-to-head at Fraser Park on Sunday afternoon (3pm kick-off) in a match sure to be close and competitive. The Dragons were terrible last week, losing 4-1 to a resurgent Uni, while the Eagles demolished Liverpool 3-0. However, only one goal has been scored in their previous two meetings, which ended in a 0-0 draw and a 1-0 win to Parramatta at Fraser Park. With plenty on the line, more goals should be expected.
St George Saints will visit Mount Druitt Town Rangers at Popondetta Park with caution on Sunday afternoon (3pm). Mount Druitt stunned Rockdale 3-0 in a catch-up game on Tuesday night and the western Sydney side has conceded just nine goals in nine games, despite their lowly position on the table. The Saints, who sit just outside the top-five, will also remember losing 2-0 at home to the Rangers late last year, after St George had earlier racked up a 3-0 win at Popondetta.
The Northern Tigers face a tough match against Rockdale City Suns at the Ilinden Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon (3pm). The fifth-placed Tigers have the opportunity to jump two more places up the ladder with a win over the Suns, who will be looking to bounce back from their 3-0 midweek loss to Mount Druitt. Form suggests a real battle for the points with the Tigers winning 2-1 at the same venue last May, followed by a 1-1 draw later in the year. Their 2006 encounter also finished 1-1.
