Galluzzo still going strong with Tigers

The determined defender is now into his sixth season with the A.P.I.A. Leichhardt Tigers and plans to keep going.
At 29 years of age Galluzzo still has plenty of time, but recently he has spent a couple of weeks on the sideline with a knee injury.
?I received a bad knock playing against Bankstown and it just flared up and I might be out for two weeks,? he said.
A.P.I.A. Leichhardt is still very much in contention for the top five even though the team has let the lead slip in some games ? against Sutherland Sharks and Wollongong FC, the Tigers were held to a draw after leading both matches late into the game.
?We are not going as well as we all would have liked,? Galluzzo said. ?We are battling and it seems that we can?t finish the game and hold on for 90 minutes but, on the whole, we are doing alright and improving.?
Galluzzo, who is a tiler by trade but is currently trading in cars because of his susceptible knee, still hasn?t given up hope of playing in the A-League but it is certainly not something that he is desperately chasing.
Rather philosophically he said he would be more than happy to finish his career with the Tigers and move into coaching once his career is over.
?No, not really given up [on the A-League] but I am happy to stay here at A.P.I.A. as long as they want me and finish my career here.
?I would love to get into coaching and possibly even next year I might get my license and get into coaching some younger teams.?
No matter what path lies ahead for Galluzzo after he finishes with the TeleChoice Premier League, it shouldn?t be forgotten that he has had a brilliant playing career.
A Marconi junior since the under 13s, he went on to play for the Australian Joeys (under 17s) in 1996 alongside the likes of Harry Kewell, Brett Emerton, Daniel Allsopp, Nick Rizzo and Clayton Bell in the Les Scheinflug coached team of that era.
