To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Women?s Football in the Illawarra area the Stingrays are holding a day for all women footballers.
?The Stingrays realize the importance of research for cancer and help for cancer sufferers and feel that this is just a small way we can help those people.
“The McGrath Foundation is at the forefront of support for women cancer sufferers by supplying Breast Cancer Nurses and we are pleased to be associated with them for not only this weekend but also the future.
“Together with Errea Sportswear, Infocus Money Management, Wollongong and Football Express Wollongong we have been able to display the awareness by having our first grade squad play in Pink Shirts for the first grade game.
“We also thank our opposition Inter Lions for their support of the day.
“We are aiming at raising $2500 during the season and this weekend will be a big start to achieving that target.? President Rob McKie stated
The Illawarra United Stingrays are in the Arrive Alive Super League competition and this weekend play Inter Lions with first grade starting at 3pm.
A display of small sided games of Shellharbour JFC and Fernhill FC juniors will proceed the first grade game.
