Premier Youth League Round 18 Review
If you need further proof that the rescheduled games are having an impact just look at the results from the weekend.
Grade 13
Sutherland Sharks have lead of six points at the top of the table following their solid 5-0 victory over ninth placed Bankstown City while Marconi Stallions are second after they played out a scoreless draw with third placed Blacktown City Demons.
Manly United are fourth after they were beaten 3-1 by sixth placed A.P.I.A. Leichhardt Tigers and then northern beaches lads knocked over Sydney Olympic 1-0 in Round 9 catch-up action on Sunday while the Tigers had a scoreless draw with the Stallions in their Round 13 catch-up match.
Fifth placed Macarthur Rams and seventh placed Sydney United played out a 0-0 draw on Saturday and then the Rams defeated Wollongong 1-0 in a Round 15 catch-up match on Sunday. The tenth placed Wolves had downed eighth placed West Sydney Berries 5-1 on Saturday.
Eleventh placed Penrith Nepean United and last placed Sydney Olympic played out a 2-2 draw which has left both teams exactly where they were on the table.
Grade 14
Sutherland Sharks have a lead of three points at the head of the competition table after they posted a 2-0 scoreline over twelfth placed Bankstown City while Marconi Stallions are second following their 0-0 with third placed Blacktown City Demons and their 5-0 victory over sixth placed A.P.I.A. Leichhardt Tigers in Round 13 catch-up action. The Tigers were 2-0 winners over last placed Manly United on Saturday.
While the Penrith Nepean United clash with NSWIS Girls was postponed midweek, Penrith are fourth after they came up with a 2-0 result over seventh placed Sydney Olympic who went on to defeat Manly 1-0 in a Round 9 catch-up match.
West Sydney Berries are sixth and only one point outside the top five after they were 2-1 winners over tenth placed Wollongong FC who then downed eleventh placed Macarthur Rams 4-0 in a Round 15 catch-up match on Sunday. The Rams had posted a 2-2 draw with fifth placed Sydney United on Saturday.
Grade 15
Blacktown City Demons lead the way on the competition table after they came up with a 2-0 win over fourth placed Marconi Stallions who had a scoreless draw with third placed A.P.I.A. Leichhardt Tigers in a Round 13 catch-up match.
The Tigers were beaten 1-0 by seventh placed Manly United on Saturday while fifth placed Sydney Olympic registered a 1-0 victory over eleventh placed Penrith Nepean United and then they lost 3-0 to Manly on Sunday in Round 9 catch-up action.
Sydney United are sixth and four points outside the top five after they recorded a solid 5-0 success over eighth placed Macarthur Rams and then the Rams lost 4-1 to second placed Wollongong FC in a Round 15 catch-up match on Sunday. The Wolves had beaten ninth placed West Sydney Berries 4-0 on Saturday.
Tenth placed Sutherland Sharks had a 4-0 result over twelfth placed Bankstown City while the midweek clash between Penrith Nepean United and NSWIS Girls was postponed.
Grade 16
Manly United have a lead of two points on the competition table following their 1-0 loss to second placed A.P.I.A. Leichhardt Tigers on Saturday and then their 3-0 win over ninth placed Sydney Olympic in a Round 9 catch-up match on Sunday while the Tigers were held to a scoreless draw in their Round 13 catch-up match with third placed Marconi Stallions.
The Stallions produced a 2-0 win over fifth placed Blacktown City Demons and Olympic went down 1-0 to seventh placed Penrith Nepean United on Saturday.
Wollongong FC are sixth and four points outside the top five after they went down 2-0 to last placed West Sydney Berries on over Saturday and then they were 4-1 winners over tenth placed Macarthur Rams in Round 15 catch-up action on Sunday. The Rams had beaten fourth placed Sydney United 3-1 on Saturday.
Bankstown City are in eight position after they won by the odd goal in five over eleventh placed Sutherland Sharks.
Grade 18
Blacktown City Demons are the competition leaders by a margin of four points after they were 4-1 winners over second placed Marconi Stallions while Penrith Nepean United are third on goal difference following their 2-1 loss to fourth placed Sydney Olympic.
A.P.I.A. Leichhardt Tigers are in fifth place following their 1-1 draw with ninth placed Manly United and Wollongong FC are sixth and seven points outside the top five after they suffered a 1-0 loss to tenth placed West Sydney Berries.
Bankstown City are a point further back at seventh after they went down 4-2 to last placed Sutherland Sharks and Sydney United are eighth following their 2-1 win over eleventh placed Macarthur Rams.
