2008 State Titles action spread far and wide across the state

STATETITLESLOGOS

Six Metropolitan regions and the three Country Branches come together for a feast of top class football.  Full details of the format and draws for these Titles can be found on the State Titles page on this website.
The Grade 11 teams are enjoying the best of the weather at South Nowra Fields, Nowra as the teams from the nine regions covering our entire state stake their claims for the titles and we see Metropolitan West leading the way with three great wins from three starts giving them the perfect start.
The Grade 14 tournament is being played in atrocious conditions at Griffith, with cold, wind, rain and even hail creating even more formidable opposition than the other teams.
This very even competition has seen Metro South and Metro East sharing the spoils in their first game and now testing their luck over the remainder of the tournament against very strong opposition.
Grade 15 are playing at Pluim Park on the Central Coast and after a great day yesterday, battled periods of stop-start rain today creating unwanted problems for most, but apparently not for the very strong Metro Far South team which has notched up four great wins from four starts to lead the pack.
The very cold conditions at Bathurst have not prevented the Grade 16 Metro West squad from also bagging four great wins from four starts and they will be the benchmark for the rest of the regions in this competition as the boys attempt to impress for selection to a metropolitan and a country representative teams to travel overseas in January.
These State Titles are an integral part of the pathway for selection to the State teams with all state coaches and those from the FNSW High Performance Unit under the control of HPU Manager Paul Bentvelzen attending all venues on selection duties.
It is not only the players who are out to impress but also the referees from the Football NSW Premier League Panel have all been bussed into the rural areas under the control of FNSW Referee Manager, Craig McCallum to show their talents at the highest level and will relish the experience of a week-long feast of football.
All results are updated daily on the State Titles competition page.
