Rangers eye prize

Playing in the NSW Super League, the Rangers? first-grade side finished 10th last season while the under-20s finished in sixth place.
Pavela said with one striker on the first-grade side leaving for England mid-season and the other strikers battling injuries, the team?s defence was under a lot of pressure the whole season.
He said things would be different this season though.
?We have a better-balanced squad all round and ample strikers to cover any injuries. We?re definitely looking for a top-five finish and to make the semi-finals,? Pavela said.
?We have six or seven new players from various clubs around Sydney – many from the local area – and we kept the players we wanted to keep from last season, so that worked out well.?
The Rangers will start the season at home at Popondetta Park, Emerton, against Granville Rage on Sunday, March 15.
A gala day on Sunday, February 22, will see Mt Druitt square off against the Blacktown Spartans.
Action will kick off with the under-13s at 8.30pm and continue until the first-grade sides clash at 7pm.
