Premier Youth League Round 2
Saturday and Sunday, 7th and 8th March, 2009
It is still far too early for us to have a realistic look at the table as some of the teams are still feeling their way. However, it is interesting that four different clubs are heading the various tables at this stage.
Overview
Blacktown City Demons had the best of the overall results on the weekend when they picked up the full ration of fifteen points from their visit to Sutherland Sharks after they had taken half the available points from their midweek clash with NSWIS Girls.
West Sydney Berries pocketed ten points from their home encounter with Penrith Nepean United while Marconi Stallions bagged the same number of points at home to Manly United. Wollongong FC also gained ten points when they hosted Bonnyrigg White Eagles.
Sydney Olympic?s visit to Sydney Tigers yielded eleven points while Sydney United and Bankstown City shared the spoils at seven points apiece.
Grade 13
West Sydney Berries are leading the table at this stage after they made it two wins from as many matches with a 2-0 result over Penrith Nepean United and Marconi Stallions are second on goal difference following their 3-0 triumph over Manly United.
Bonnyrigg White Eagles are two points further back at third thanks to their 4-2 victory over Wollongong FC and Sydney United are fourth on goal difference after they downed Bankstown City 2-1.
Blacktown City Demons are placed fifth on goal difference following their 1-0 result over Sutherland Sharks and Sydney Olympic are only one point away at seventh after they were 3-1 winners over Sydney Tigers.
Grade 14
This competition table already has an interesting look about it with the top seven teams locked together on four points. Sydney Tigers have the best goal difference after their 2-2 draw with tenth placed Sydney Olympic and Penrith Nepean United are in second spot following their 2-0 success over eighth placed West Sydney Berries.
Wollongong FC are sitting at third after were held to a 1-1 draw by thirteenth placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles. Marconi Stallions are fourth thanks to their 2-1 result over ninth placed Manly United and NSWIS Girls are fifth after they defeated Blacktown City Demons 1-0 in their midweek clash. The Demons are placed sixth following their 1-0 win over twelfth placed Sutherland Sharks on Saturday.
Bankstown City are placed seventh after they were 2-1 winners over eleventh placed Sydney United while
Grade 15
Blacktown City Demons are the competition leaders with maximum points from their three matches. They were 6-1 winners over NSWIS Girls in their midweek encounter and then they knocked over tenth placed Sutherland Sharks 2-1 on Saturday.
Wollongong FC are three points further back at second following their 1-0 result over twelfth placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles and Marconi Stallions are two points further adrift after they drew 2-2 with seventh placed Manly United. West Sydney Berries are placed fourth on goal difference following their 2-2 draw with ninth placed Penrith Nepean United.
Bankstown City are in fifth position following the 2-0 loss to Sydney United who are now sixth on goal difference while Sydney Tigers are placed eighth thanks to their 1-1 draw with eleventh placed Sydney Olympic.
Grade 16
Wollongong FC have taken the full ration of points from their two matches so far, including their 1-0 victory over tenth placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles on Saturday, and they lead the way on the competition table. Manly United are in second spot on goal difference thanks to their 2-1 win over fifth placed Marconi Stallions and West Sydney Berries are third, also on goal difference after they accounted for eleventh placed Penrith Nepean United with a 2-0 scoreline.
Sydney United are in fourth place thanks to their 2-2 draw with ninth placed Bankstown City and Sydney Tigers are sixth on goal difference after they went down 1-0 to eighth placed Sydney Olympic Blacktown City Demons are sitting at seventh on goal difference following their 2-1 victory over twelfth placed Sutherland Sharks.
Grade 18
Blacktown City Demons are the competition leaders following their 6-3 success over tenth placed Sutherland Sharks while NSWIS Boys are second on goal difference after they were 2-1 midweek winners over Bankstown City who recovered from that setback to claim eighth place when they posted a 2-1 win over eleventh placed Sydney United.
Marconi Stallions are third on goal difference after they registered a 2-1 result over ninth placed Manly United and Wollongong FC are fourth, also on goal difference, thanks to their 1-0 victory over thirteenth placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles.
Sydney Olympic are two points further back at fifth after they downed seventh placed Sydney Tigers by the odd goal in five and West Sydney Berries are sitting between those two at sixth courtesy of their 2-1 success over twelfth placed Penrith Nepean United.
